We have had quite the week around here.
The day after Thanksgiving Bodey started throwing up. We didn't think much of it at first, until he puked and it shot all over me and the chair I was sitting in.
I looked at TJ and I think we both knew what was going on but didn't want to say it out loud.
You see, when Koy was 5 weeks old he started doing the same thing. We found out it was pyloric stenosis and had to spend 3 days at Primary Children's with him while he had surgery.
Well, Bodey was 5 weeks and projectile vomiting. We waited the weekend out, all the while the throw up got worse and worse.
On Monday morning I took him to the doctor and the doctor thought it was pyloric stenosis also, so he ordered the tests for the next day. That night Bodey didn't keep anything down. While I was getting ready the next morning, AF hospital called to say that the machine they use for the test was broken and they would have to reschedule for another day.
So, I had to call around to try and find somewhere to do the test. I was completely freaking out because I knew Bodey was getting dehydrated. Luckily in the middle of my freak out Katie came to the rescue.
She got on the phone pretending to be me, called Primary Children's and got the test scheduled, all without having to visit the ER. (Which we both know is hell on earth because Koy and Abe had to spend hours in it before they were admitted.)
Once we got there they gave Bodey the ultrasound and the radiologist took one glance at it and said, "Yep, he's got the same thing his older brother did."
We were admitted and about an hour later they came to take Bodey to surgery. We were lucky to get it done so fast because he couldn't eat before surgery and had to wait 8 hours after to start eating again.
We owe a huge thanks to Katie and her Mother Bear instincts!
After surgery, trying to get comfortable.
The nurses were dying at how chubby he is. Usually kids that have this are really skinny because they throw up for weeks.
During our stay the Jazz made their annual visit. Of course, TJ was at home getting the camera. But Bodey and I got to meet Paul Millsap and Scott Layden. They even signed a little ball for Bodey.Just hanging out waiting to eat.
We are so glad to be healthy and at home. Bodey has been smiling up a storm since we got home and since he can eat to his heart's content.
