Now that the weather has cooled off, TJ has been itching to go bugle with the elk. (He speaks their language) So last night the boys took off in search of some monster elk. I opted to stay home since I'm pretty sure the bumpy ride would have put me into labor and the babe still needs a few more weeks to gestate.
Ever the responsible outdoorsman, TJ was aware that it was the last day of the limited entry hunt and didn't want to draw all the elk away from those hunters with his hypnotic grunt. So, not too many elk were heard but he did get some good pictures of Koy.
Much to TJ's relief, Koy is a natural born hiker
TJ probably told him to make that face
Possibly my favorite picture ever of this kid. Does it get any better than that?As soon as Koy walked in the door he told me, "Mom, I saw a deer and a moose and a moose and an elk and it was really cool!"
None of which was true. At least he's got the mentality of a true hunter-say anything to make the story better.
